One of the two dragon types on the planet, the other one being the Sha’Kran. While they are visually similar to the Sha’Kran, they have many differences. Their bodies are typically very massive and big, they are about 1.5-2 times bigger than the Sha’Kran. Their wing-span are shorter a bit, but their wings are also wider. They flap their wings constantly, but in a slow pace during flight, thus they are somewhat less stable than the Sha’Kran.
They live at the opposite, south-western part of the planet, the Sha’Ral Isles similarly named after these type of dragons in respect as the Sha’Kran. They also enjoy and prefer rocky or barren fields, however they don’t seem to mind different places, but naturally, they are used to barren fields and mountainsides.
Due to their size and massive built, they are typically used for heavy lifting at some parts of the planet, since they can almost lift up to about a ton (using typical measurements for better understanding 800-900kg typically maximum, but bigger ones are usually able to lift even 1000-1200kg depending how fit and trained they are) they normally refuse to lift anything that is heavier than what they can carry comfortably.
Since their skin is thick and feels like hard, rocky ground, riders use a special belt around the dragons’ bodies to make the flight or riding comfortable for themselves too. There are two type of belts, usually designed for the rider, since the only two comfortable way to sit on them, is either kneeling on them or in a cross legged position which is most used.
Compared to their build, they are actually rather timid and friendly. They always make groups, because they actually make friends with each other, they also tend to accept other animals or creatures within their “friendly circle” and protect them along with each other. Even though they are very friendly, it is actually not easy to “become friends” with one, they typically need a kind of special bond with any of them or other animals to accept them as friends and trust them.
Similarly to the Sha’Kran they are somewhat used as a pet too, but due to their need of a group it is more complicated to do so. These kind of dragons do not choose their owners and don’t think of anyone as their owners or such, they only accept the person and sees them as a member of their group or call it friendly circle. Even though they need a group to be in and have company around, they are fine being alone for a short period of time (typically up to two or three days).
Naturally they are more active during the afternoon, dusk and night, however they are usually not very active and are perfectly fine lying around and being lazy when they are alone or left alone, but when being in a group they often like to march/walk or sometimes fly around in pairs. They are in fact rather communicative between each other and are pretty intelligent creatures. If there is something that seems dangerous, or someone, or something they should not trust, they tell it to the other members of their group, extremely rarely due to this fact, they have drove away some of their members who turned out they cannot trust for any reason, basically they can exile out members of their group, but it is a rare occasion.
They are naturally scavengers, they eat plants and meat as well, but that is usually dead meat. They do not hunt or kill for food, but they do consume pretty much any dead small animals for food. Due to this, if one of them are alone for long, they might not get a share of any meat from other groups, however it is not uncommon, that some different groups “helps out” the lone one with food, since they tend to be rather caring of each other. They do not kill or want to kill, or even see the death of their own kind, so sometimes an outcast one from a group might find place within another group.
Their eye sight is better than humans’ and are able to see colors, they are also able to see infrared. Their hearing is relatively good compared to the Sha’Kran, and they have forelegs, unlike the other type. They communicate the same way as the Sha’Kran, with crackling/snorting/growling-like noises, the only difference is, that they make deeper/lower pitched sounds.
Their skin has fluorescent spots mainly along from the tail to the head and a few spots at the end of their wings, this makes them partially glow in the dark and is the same color as their skins, except it glows brighter, due to their skin colors being naturally darker or less saturated. Their skin colors ranges from either darker grey, or from darker blue to green and purplish or the mix between them. Examples:
