With its half a million population, it is the most populated and largest city on Nysh. The creation of Ona was a long process on Nysh through centuries. People carved this city into a wide, flat-surfaced mesa, going around its side, making a several round path into its middle, eventually creating a huge spiral path into its middle, upper point. Through this time, people removed more than half of the mesa in order to create its unique spiraling shape. Since the elevation of this mesa was about a kilometer units high, the long path to the flat top isn’t steep, but rather flat and going uphill isn’t too noticeable.
Reusing the minerals and materials mined from the formation, people built homes and settlements on the way up along the spiraling path. However due to unfortunate events and natural disasters people had to realize that the path they built was not safe, yet. Since the path was easily flooded from the top and landslides regularly happened, people first had to plant trees and shrubs to keep a hold of the softer, sandy ground to prevent landslides. Then people built out a large draining system for the rain and water, down from the top. To be safer, people decided to build their settlements and homes in the middle of the spiraling path, and had their farms and orchards planted in the base and edge of the slopes.
After the spiral was formed, people created their districts as well. Since the path of the spiral to the top was several kilometer units long, people had to create different districts on every part of the spiral equally. For faster travel by foot, people carved stairs into the sides of slopes on each layer of the spiral. On top, due to the given flat surface, people built a much bigger, much stable city part, which also has the most free space and markets. It is less of a spot for homes and settlements, and more of a spot for trading, meeting, but mainly for entertainment and great views for visitors. Since its old times, Ona now looks familiarly to a colossal fortress.

Given its placement next to the Arvandellian Sea, it also owns a huge port at its base, which is also used for trading, mainly a huge trade point between Sha’Tun, Leotah, Tiaphlan, Arvandell, Neyhron, Xauss and Bhenfor. While the large town cannot really show up any extreme product, the great city excels at at least one thing, its view over the land and its grandiose look. The most unique looking settlement on Nysh.
In leading, Ona has no exclusive leader or government and there is no real single leadership for the large city. Each community select a person in their Communal Halls to govern their own district. Selection and voting is mostly based on their own trust in each other, since almost everyone wants the best for their community, and in order, people select the most fit person for this. This actually doesn’t come with much power in terms of politics, it simply comes with a link of trust where people are willing to follow and listen to you, and agree with your decisions as long you are doing good for the district. As soon this breaks, people simply won’t listen to you or follow your actions.
Nowadays the city has built out about a dozen of ports for smaller aerosence ships, or rather, aerosence boats. Built at three directions, South-West, North and South-East, at almost four layers of the city, people can use six of these boats to travel between the layers. Each port uses two boats, one of them goes up while the other down, stopping at each layer’s port on its way, when reaching the top it descends back, while the other boat goes the opposite way. These boats however only carry people with very little packages if needed, but allows more people to visit different parts of the city.
People built a large pond on the top, which fills during rainy times and seasons to gather the water, which can be used as well and to prevent flooding as well. Once the pond fills fully, two gates are opened to prevent overfilling, but mainly to create two beautiful waterfalls, cascading down through the city’s layers for a short while. This is a highly sought after event, which can be seen rather rarely, especially since it is the most beautiful event during the night, where the cascading water is highlighted by many lamps and other light sources on its path down.
Ona, the Spiraling City, by now, is a flourishing and large, nay, the largest city as of the time on Nysh.
